This past year has been filled with changes for Kristy and I.  Last February we decided to move across country.  In May we packed up and made the big move from Chicago, IL to Oceanside, CA.  In September we switched to a plant based diet and in October I had major surgery that prompted me to reevaluate my nutritional focus.  We’ve had quite the year and now we have even more exciting changes on the horizon.

When we started this blog well over a year ago we had no idea it would take off the way it did.  Our goal when we started was to provide people with delicious tasting recipes that were healthy and nutritious.  Since our recipes were closely in line to what is defined as ‘clean eating’ it seemed natural for us to name our blog after that lifestyle.  While our recipes still have a ‘clean’ focus they are much more than one type of lifestyle.  We have gluten free recipes, vegan recipes, vegetarian recipes, dairy free recipes, grain free recipes - you get the point.  With so many types of delicious tasting recipes we felt like we were being defined by one small segment of so many healthy choices out there.  After much discussion and thought we decided a little change was in order!

Kristy and I thought long and hard about what our style really was.  Regardless of the category that our recipes fit into, each and every one contains foods that are wholesome and from natural ingredients.  What inspires us to make different dishes is using the ‘naked’ foods that nature produces and putting them together to come up with wonderfully delicious meals.  The foods we get from nature don’t need added colors, dyes, preservatives or chemical flavors to make them taste good - they are perfect naked, just the way nature intended.  That’s our style!  That’s how we cook!  That’s when The Naked Kitchen was born.

So what does all this change mean for you?

For starters, all our recipes, posts, tips and tricks and comments will still be there.  Our web designers will be transferring over our remaining content this weekend.  On Monday, March 5th, 2012 we will officially launch The Naked Kitchen.  The Joy Of Clean Eating will still be up but all new content, posts and recipes will be posted to The Naked Kitchen.

Pinterest users - you will now see a pin it button on all of our posts!

Our new site will have a recipe box!  You no longer have to search through posts to find that specific recipe you were looking for.  You’ll be able to save all your favorite recipes in one location and easily pull them up when you need them.  ***We should have this feature ready to go within the next week***

We’ve included a FAQ page that addresses some of our most asked questions.  As always, if there is something that we haven’t covered that you are wondering about please don’t hesitate to email us!

We now have an RSS feed that will allow you to get updates sent directly to your email.  We’ve had several people ask for this option and it’s now included on our new site.

There is also a section called The Naked Life.  Simply put - it’s my life in a nutshell.  I write about cooking, homeschooling, blogging and life in general.

We are still putting the finishing touches on the site but will have most everything updated and ready to go by Monday.  We are doing everything we can to make this change as smooth as possible.  If you experience any trouble at all please email us and let us know.  If a link doesn’t work, a recipe won’t load or a page gets stuck please send us an email.

To thank you all for being loyal readers and sticking with us through this change we will giving away a BRAND NEW IPAD!!!  Details will follow this Monday, March 5th on our new site - The Naked Kitchen.

We are so excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to have you all come along for the ride.  We have some amazing things planned this year and we can’t wait to share them all with you.

~Sarah and Kristy
